Hawes is located in the Wensleydale valley and centrally located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The area is surround by rolling hills, valleys, rivers and a plenty supply of pretty villages and country pubs.

The Yorkshire Dales are is haven for outdoor enthusiasts/walkers and to suit all abilities; whether you enjoy a small stroll along the riverbanks, full day hikes across the fells or even attempting to take the famous 3 peak challenge or the Pennine way over Great Shunner Fell to Keld.

We have put together a selection a local walks from the cottage and also popular walks in the surrounding area. Under each walk we have provided brief details and maps and also GPX files for your navigation device where we can. Please note the GPX files are only a guide and still advice taking a printed map on all walks.  Paper maps are provided for reference in the cottage under the stairs. We would appreciate it if you could leave our maps in the cottage so that other guests may also enjoy them.
